I must say I'm personally very impressed with how the development is living up to the 2017 renders, everything between photo 1 and render photo 2 match up perfectly. The last photo/render pair the obvious difference is the rather puke orange that we got instead of the more subdued redish orange and the switch from a see-through holy wall on the near side to a solid slab of metal wall instead, I believe that change was made to appease Amtrak's strict requirements on bridge crossings and stopping jumpers.
 
Nice pictures and thanks for the recap with the renders. The building with the vertical fins came out really great on that side of it.
 
Looking forward to seeing the renders for ISEC II. Approved for up to 14 stories. Hopefully it will take advantage of that.

The red-glowing kidney is the existing building and the other one is ISEC phase 2.

The IMP mentioned going as high as 14 floors, so the top one seems closer to that. But in both there's an aesthetic that keeps with the existing bulbousness of the first engineering building.

Yes, I read the full article. LOI was sent 5/2 to BPDA, and the article ends saying NU intends to file a project notification form this month.

What's the tall building at the top of the render? Is that supposed to be the currently U/C dorm?
 
I recommend checking the bridge at night, the lights are already in and they look super nice.

Also, I sort of hated the ISEC I building because it seemed a little disjointed with two extremely unrelated parts; however, seeing the render for ISEC II puts it in a different context and I think it may grow on me. ISEC I also grew on me after seeing it on a nice day from Tremont through Cunard Street.

Can't imagine them being permanent. Although given that the EXP will start construction next winter they may last until it is completed.

The walls are high to prevent people from tossing stuff, or themselves, onto the tracks.
 
Northeastern has a very short video on the opening of the bridge posted on their Facebook page.
 
This makes me wish that the MBTA had allowed Northeastern to build the other half of the ARC.

Seeing the wooden handrails in detail confirms for me that they are long term temporary barriers. They will likely stay in place until ISEC II/EXP is completed.
 
This looks great, even with the temp railings. The city should take a few notes; this is how you effectively throw money at a problem.
