I actually just started grad school at northeastern and so I spend some time in the new ISEC building (the big blob with wooden slats) and got some photos from inside of the bridge and park. It looks awesome in person!

Just a guess, but I suspect it has to do with proximity to Amtrak's electrical lines. All the bridges on the NEC were redone with high walls like that when the line was electrified.

The next project will be ISEC II which may be up to 14 stories. Additional housing would be built on the Ryder lot and the Parcel 18 site. Although Northeastern owns Parcel 18 it has been designated as the site for a hotel in the past and is not part of the 2013 IMP.
The Punter's Pub (RIP) site is still up in the air as to its reuse.
Did anyone attend the community meeting? How was this received? Did the NIMBY's have a meltdown?
