Only two from Boston!!!

http://news.distractify.com/mark-pygas/old-and-new/?v=1

Back in the 60's and probably into the 70's a big deal was made of the juxtaposition of old Boston with the new. That seems to have completely disappeared from conversation about the city/

I'm sure posters on this site could add other examples

A lot of the ones from China are very impressive, though I wonder how long they'll last. In terms of Boston, I think a lot of the facadectomies or whatever people call them-- Atlantic Wharf, Millennium Tower + Burnham soon, South Station in the future-- are good examples, maybe the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum too. On the subject of the Old State House though, wasn't that getting some extensive outdoor renovations, redoing the plaza, planting trees, taking over some street space? What ended up happening with that?

The view from my office -- Old South Meeting House with 33 Arch in the background.
