Revere Beach Developments/infill | Revere

Does revere beach have a height limit?

I dont understand how such a nice beach isnt built up with giant towers like Miami.

Revere Beach isn't in Miami, that's why.

Ever been to Salisbury Beach? Sketch city.

No I havent. But revere beach is so close to Boston, it should be built up more.

Edit: Justs aw your comment in the other thread. Very amusing.

Well, Miami is hot and sunny for most of the year. Of course, there's the occasional hurricane, but we get Nor'Easters.

Miami beaches a built out like that because of demand for beach living in Florida is so high. In Massachusetts, all the nice beaches are either conservation land, or the prices are so high that only wealthy homeowners can afford to build on them. Of course there are exceptions, but I don't think that Revere Beach can be rightfully compared to South Beach, even though geographically, they're quite similar.

I agree that Revere Beach should be developed, though. I'd live there if it were a little bit less seedy.

Miami Beach has become a giant wall of ugly condos and hotels. It's sad that people want to compare this to Miami Beach.

South beach (not my pix!)

God, that giant wall of ugly condos looks like shit compared to beautiful Revere.

That picture is Miami Beach? I thought it was St. Louis.

(P.S. Is the highrise in the rear left the Aventura?)

The photo is taken from James Ave..and 19th St....looking east...the highrise is the Setai........a hotel/condo building....on Collins Ave.....southbeach....for some reason or other....it caters to a lot of wealthy russians....who play on the beach in very scanty bathing suits..

I love the art deco in MIA. If you go to South Beach, though, beware. It is kind of trashy on a warm night, and not in a good way. All the restaurants on Ocean Drive have barkers / hosts out front and they practically accost you to get you to go in to eat. It gets tired, fast.

Often, they offer two for one which can be applied to both food and/or drinks.

They've started serving drinks in big 24-ounce cups (maybe 32-oz, I lost track). They don't seem too watered-down. Of course, they cost $24-$30 each. So, you're basically buying two $12 drinks. More like $6 each for four. Not bad at all. Plus, you can get them in to-go cups!

^All of the action worth having in South Beach is on Lincoln Rd.

Stayed in South Beach for the Pats game last weekend. Stayed in the Clevelander on Ocean Drive. I agree with John's assessment . . . Completely forgot how overpriced and obnoxious that town is. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the stay, but spent like $1500 in 2.5 days on chatchky drinks and generic meals. Perhaps I should have strayed to Lincoln Rd.

Looks sort of squarish to me.

BTW: A GIS of The Clevelander produces some interesting images.
