Revere Infill and Small Developments

Drove by the showcase cinema today and to my surprise it was almost completely demolished. There is going to be an amazon distribution center built there (replacing the one currently at the old NECCO site?) At first i was disappointed to find out there was going to be a warehouse put there, but now im hopeful that we can get something better at the old NECCO site, since that is much more valuable land for mixed use development with its proximity to the blue line.

No, this amazon distribution center is in addition to the one at the old NECCO plant.

" With no new multi-housing development over the preceding 25 years, Revere Beach has added 1,400 multi-housing units across six new developments since 2016. Additionally, rents in the submarket have remained 30 percent lower than those of nearby downtown Boston."

The city can sell an $85M multifamily property, but rents are staying significantly lower. Can't last long.

Looks like it's for sale/will need to find someone to build it.
