Revere Infill and Small Developments

Question for people who know Revere better than me: Revere Beach Blvd between Revere St and Eliot Circle is an entirely redundant and unnecessary road with Ocean Ave right there parallel. Is there any serious effort underway to redesign it? It should, at the absolute bare minimum, have a generous two-way protected cycle track along the beach side. And ideally it would be pedestrianized (at least seasonally), with some beachfront retail, recreation, and hospitality replacing the largely useless green median.

“In planning is a new six-story multifamily development at 29, 35, and 43 Foster Street in Revere that would replace an underutilized lumber yard with 85 new residential units….”

I don’t know Revere Beach beyond the folklore; 1930/40s rail accessible public beach and bath houses; 1950s/60s amusement park, fun houses and roller coasters to 1970s/80s honky tonk bars and biker hangouts until the 1990s/00s restoration to the now beachfront residential and over priced drinks….
I agree a bike lane could easily be incorporated into the parkway but the MDC doesnt seem to be in a rush to add bike infrastructure to their portfolio at many streets, parks and trails.
I found this site on bicycling with a reasonable approach to current conditions, basically don’t bike the promenade sidewalk during high pedestrian traffic and definitely not on the beach itself which supriingly is not allowed.

This looks like the start of bicycling planning at Revere Beach vacinity

The green space North of the MDC buildings to Revere St is where The Cyclone and the remaining 1960s amusement buildings were. The Blizzard of 78 wreaked this stretch and subsequently this area became parking lots until the 1990s. I believe the state/MDC designed the green space as part of the overall storm protection plan to protect Ocean Blvd. https://www.nae.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Shore-Bank-Protection/Massachusetts/Revere/
