Freeman Parker was one of my grandmother's favorites. I was a bit of a harness racing groupie as a kid....doing the fair circuit with my grandmother. Walter Case Jr., Doug Gray, etc. I can't believe those names are still in my head....lol.I'm still surprised they don't have a road named after Donnie Richards, since they have one for Freeman Parker.
(Yes, Richards was my favorite driver as a kid and I just found a story from last August where he recorded his 1000th win as a trainer at the age of 92, on top of over 4000 wins as a driver.)
Maybe "groupie" was the wrong term to use for an 8 or 9 year old.I wasn't so much a groupie, but my grandfather used to take me with him to the Downs when he went (Cumberland and Lewiston too, and I even remember one time at Gorham when I was very small).
