Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Agree, but that by itself would be an incredibly low bar to clear. Car wrecks, burning buildings, and loud noises also get reactions out of people. Art should be of higher standard, IMO.

My apologies folks, but I have absolutely no idea what is what, so Im going to sump some neighborhood photos in here

The 2nd photo from the top shows off the different shades of glass color of each building really well and it makes each building look more unique. Anyone who hasn’t been to the Seaport previously may not think much of it, but I remember all the bemoaning that most of these buildings faced as they were being built as just another soul-less glass box. I think they’re starting to complement each other well.

A little off topic, but why are all the Fort Point side streets considered private or semi private? The reason I ask is there is always a tow truck predatory towing since its private ways (Farnsworth, Thompson etc). Just saw up fly up Farnsworth then yank a car with hazards on sideways out of a space then drive off with it. He waited for the guy to park and walk into a store then grabbed it.

If these were city roads, they'd have to wait for police, correct?

The parcel for D3 (next to Omni down Summer) is just as large, and is still within a few hundred feet of the convention center. Has Massport made any indications of plans for it?

I'm in awe of the Seaport lately, and I'm sad Menino isn't here to see it. I was highly critical of Menino and his BRA, I was highly critical of the Seaport's planning, and I'm still a bit critical of some major elements today even as things take shape. But even if not perfect, it is still coming along better than I expected, and I think Menino would have loved to see this neighborhood thriving.
