As construction continues on the residential tower at Bulfinch Crossing a new permit has been issued for further demolition of the garage. This next phase will demo an 8-story parking ramp and also 2 floors of office space that sit on top of the garage.

Yep. But i also dream of the context of the whole project!!

Of course it'll probably take 6~7 years to build..... but at least 2 are in the refrigerator.

Sorry if I'm mistaken, but while the plan is to start construction by the Spring of 2019, is it still the case that One Congress won't get built on-spec (which I'm neurotically concerned about, since they don't have an anchor tenant yet)?

I believe it is confirmed that it is going to be built on spec. Benton Brut notes a few weeks ago that all of the Steele has already been ordered.

So to clarify, I've followed this project from the time it was first proposed, about a dozen years ago (long before HYM's involvement). I see the folks from HYM often (at meetings about Suffolk Downs) and have cultivated a relationship with them. They're pretty forthright compared to many developers I've interacted with in the past. I've been told that the steel for the office tower has indeed been purchased, and that they're "getting close" on an anchor tenant (but who would even know how to assign value to "getting close").

Funny. But - it could have been shitty iPhone dictation. Siri has always been abysmal, but about two months ago my iPhones dictation for some reason suddenly started transcribing routine words as phonetically similar (or sometimes not even) names. I looked on the Internet to see if there was some update because it’s incredibly annoying, even more than it usually is, but have yet to find an explanation.

When I hear comments like that, I usually think they have a tenant who has indicated they will be taking the space but that the documentation has not be executed yet.
