The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

True to the game, Boston02124 - go to a environmental rally and take lots of photos of construction projects. Cheers to you, jefe.

Seeing this towers impact up until its skylobby (just under the cladded part now) I think that the smaller condo tower is going to have a bigger impact than we think. Its been completely ignored, but its going to make this area denser giving it some depth vs just 2 side by side towers popping up. That will help fill in the gap much more.

You can keep telling me it'll look better when it's all clad but I'm sticking with the "this facade is a giant shit stain" opinion.

Anyone can like or not like whatever they want. Its just premature to say before its finished, but its still his choice to make up his mind prematurely, no biggie.

I agree — I said this earlier today in the other thread — I'm not a huge fan of the resi tower but that's 1) probably because it isn't finished and 2) because it currently stands out much more than it eventually will. That smaller tower is going to be very important to feeling like the area is filled in. I think there are also going to be a few even smaller buildings we can't see here, right?

Correct.
That 3rd building is about the same height and massing as Avalon Exeter.
The others are nice step-ups off the Greenway.

DZH22, posts:

The background buildings are looking considerably better with the taller tower going up.
What on Earth were people thinking when they attempted to discredit the cladding?
It goes spectacularly well with the texture and color of these older buildings.
It almost has a timeless appearance. I can imagine future visitors wondering if it's from the '60s, 70s, or sometime later. There's going to be so much glass added in the next 3~4 years: The mixes of glass, chalky beige & reddish block and '60's modernism might all end up looking fairly dazzling. Downtown is starting to look bigger & impressive.

Visitor to Boston says, "Looking good there: 50, 60 stories? How many more to go?".
Neighborhood 'blighter' says, "Think i heard something like [650 feet] a few years ago, but I'm not sure.........."
Visitor to Boston says, "Yeah, that's gonna be nice."
