It was pretty windy. This guy was being dragged all over by his kite.

It's a pretty nicel area to hang out, skate, walk and check out town and the Harbor Islands. The Waste Treatment Plant is interesting too. lots of info posted all over about it.
 
I wish my Saturday looked like that.

Great views from a historically tragic place.
 
If one ever watches the movie "The Last Detail" with Jack Nicholson, you can see what Deer Island used to look like. Near the end of the movie when they drop Randy McQuaid off in "Portsmouth" it is really the old Suffolk County House of Correction in the background. The prison was knocked for the current treatment plant.

I spent many Thanksgivings in the sand-colored house, right below the 747.

My dad spent some time at the old Suffolk County House of Correction; he'd usually bring a teargas gun and a riot helmet to the parties.
 
I luv going there, the walk takes about 2.5 hours scenic pixs at everyturn
