West Cambridge / Alewife Area Infill & Small Developments

The Finch. OK design but the facade really looks like plastic laminate/Formica. And Burger King for a next door neighbor.

The brise soleil design appears to be inspired by the grid fins on a Falcon 9 rocket.

And nothing says home like major power grid infrastructure for a neighbor.

I remember when the Fresh Pond Drive-in Movie theater occupied this site back in the 1950s. I could watch free movies on it from where I lived in Jefferson Park (off of Rindge Ave). Couldn't hear the sound, though.

Charlie, I'm curious about where the screen was standing, what is there today? Trader Joe's approximately? Thanks.

The electrical substation property fits exactly the footprint of the old drive-in theater. So the screen was just north of Trader Joes, and was located where there is currently a building on the south tip of the electrical substation.
