I'm not sure there's enough close proximity parking for the market. The apartments have dedicated gated parking that ate most of the giant open parking lot behind Crompton Place, and while there's street parking on Green and Harding the area is getting busier and busier. Otoh, this thing should be game day foot traffic hot-spot once the ballpark opens.

Official opening of the Worcester Public Market. I’ll take some pics once I make it over there.

I passed by the Worcester Public Market today. I’ve been there once before on a Saturday afternoon and the place was absolutely packed. On a Thursday afternoon in the COVID-19 era it’s a different story. There’s a place for an oyster/ raw bar that I’m excited about. Next time I go back I’ll post pics of the Wachusett Tap room which is quite nice.

Two weeks ago:
Worcester Public Market waives rent with eye on June 2 return

May 19th update:
Prior to Baker’s announcement on Monday, Fletcher hoped to reopen the Worcester Public Market on June 4. Portions of the market that focus on retail can begin a limited reopening on May 25. A best-case scenario would allow restaurants to follow two weeks later. Fletcher, though, hopes to reopen the entire market as a whole.

Fletcher now targets the week of June 15 as the goal to reopen the space in Worcester’s Canal District.

I'd split this out from Kelley Square, but am having second thoughts. Should there be one thread that covers the neighborhood?

If so, what to call the neighborhood:

If we do that, we can merge the content of the existing “Worcester | Canal district infill/ discussion” thread. And Canal District would make sense as a name.
