Atlantic Wharf (née Russia Wharf) | Atlantic Ave | Waterfront

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

The GREENWAY IS PUMPING tonight. Please no shadows. LOL.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

Had I turned around and taken a pix u would have seen hundreds of folks going to South station and one of those food trucks with a line to buy food, two homeless guys one selling papers and the other with a cup and it was snowing a bit!

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

^ Dewey Square is a necessary expanse for commuters to cross, and even then mostly at rush hour. That hardly proves anything about the Greenway.

Atlantic Wharf looks really ominous in the above shot, the way its cornice seems lined up with the Intercon. There's an "Empire State Plaza" feeling in effect...

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

^ Ur right it was rush hour and I had step out of the cattle race to South station to grab a pix :) some from Teusday

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

It appears there may be a boloco going in here.
I was walking past today and noticed they have a presence inside.

not sure if they are there for the construction workers or if they plan on opening where Three Cheers used to be.

That would be a shame because that seems like a big space and should be for retail or perhaps an upscale restaurant.

Not that three cheers was upscale but it did allow for waterfront dining which is a premium in the city.

Would be a shame to put a boloco on the waterfront. Just my .02 cents.

Anyone else notice the boloco kiosk ?

Oh god PLEASE not another BOLOCO. There are at least 3 locations within a 6 minute walk of Atlantic Wharf. How about something different? A good quality locally owned sandwich shop (think Sam LaGrassa's) would be great for that location.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

Along with the already announced Smith and Wollensky's palnned to open in Summer 2011, Boston Properties has just shared the news that Boloco will be operating a kiosk in Waterfront Square at Atlantic Wharf from 11:30 to 2:00 pm daily. Boloco will soon be starting construction of their new facility in the development.

Also, the Atlantic Wharf Caf? opened inside Nelson Court. This kiosk is being operated by Sorelle. Sorelle will also soon start construction of their new Atlantic Wharf store.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

What or where is 'Waterfront Square' ?

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

What or where is 'Waterfront Square' ?

Waterfront Square
a.k.a. Town Square
a.k.a. Town Hall Square
a.k.a. office tower lobby
a.k.a. world-class groundfloor 'Facility of Public Accomodation' as required under Chapter 91

If I sound extra cynical today, it's because reading announcements about Boloco, mediocrity, devaluation of prime Boston land and related topics really gets on my nerves.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

I was over there too this week

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

The lighted top is making me think that this building needs a nickname. Bart Simpson? Beavis? The Moai?

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

Sicilian: LOL, very funny analogy, spot on. Looks like Wellington Management has moved in to the building.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

Thanks, Sicilian. How foolish of me to forget the incomparable Mr. V. Ice.

Interestingly, he's now involved in the construction trades and now has his own reality show. I recall contemplating self-immolation when I came across it a few weeks ago.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

It's not the colors, head-wedge or even the Boloco attitude that gets me.

It is ablarc's Colossal Order grid over the ears.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

Haha I love it, Sicilian.

That got me thinking it would be a fun thought exercise to match people and characters to buildings, but then I realized we wouldn't get very far when most of our newer developments have the personality of these guys (sans Milton):

Speaking of Milton, who would he be? I'm guessing the Hurley Building...
