Still not a lot to see, and unfortunately they have most of the upper plaza blocked off so you can't get a good view from up there either.

I was just wondering yesterday as I cross the Charles,wheres the crane for this building,it seems like this building started long before the others downtown and with no basement to dig u would think this would have gone up very quicky?

I can't reconcile any of the renderings with the size of the parcel. And, I'm familiar with this neighorbhood. In the last one, where is the Lenox? Something feels wrong.

@02124 They were pouring foundations when I walked by the other day.

This building is going to be perfect for this location. With Copley Place, LM, and the new Prudential building, the Back Bay Skyline is going to be amazing and very prestigious looking.

The renders of this thing are deceiving you don't really see how tall it is. I don't think there's a rendering of the entire building from ground to roof or tall it is compared to its neighbors directly. Maybe a good ploy to throw off the nimbys

I have two of em, its really not gonna stick out at all but its gonna be a nice addition.

Actually during the approval process (once it became clear that there was going to be a tall building) the neighbors pushed for something at least as tall as the existing Avalon buildings (in order to block the hideous bastards from view). I only know this because I interned for AVB one summer.

This building got me thinking about something:
1. If the surrounding towers were condo buildings this probably would have been held up by lawsuits (a la LoveJoy wharf).
2. If the surrounding towers were owned by other apartment companies this probably would have been held up by lawsuits.

Is this one of the few examples where ownership of mega-parcels (or in this case, mega-development-rights) actually helps improve the final product?

One difference I noticed between the new and old renders is that there are now 4 floors of glass at the top instead of just 3. Did this building get a little taller? That would be great, obviously.
