BU Development Thread

Wow, awesome news for CFA - that building has a ton of potential. Now looks like the last school that needs serious renovation is COM.

The CFA renovation will be lipstick on a pig. The $50 million includes the renovated facilities across Comm Ave to replace the BU Theater. Compare this to the hundreds of millions spent on brand new STEM buildings.

BU selling all properties on north side of kenmore square including the building with the citgo sign. Hoping to see significant mixed use redevelopment.

On mobile can't post the globe link. Will edit later if nobody's posted it yet.

Given what's been going on in the Fenway, this could be big. What's as-of-right zoning height there?

Lord... What's your point? It'll look better, be better for the school and be a better street level experience. AND it's not a bad building to begin with. How is it "lipstick on a pig", which is probably the most overused expression on this forum?

CFA is a dumpy building that has about 6 layers of renovation since BU bought it. Most of the spaces are makeshift. The inner core is an unused, sealed off auto ramp.

Basically it is a dump that can only be appreciated by near sighted BU alumni.

Nothing in your response addresses any of the benefits I mentioned.

Wow. They're finally fixing the raw sewage leaks at Myles. This is like the Daily Free Press front-page headline my 1998 self was always hoping to see.

At this rate only 30 more years to go before the CFA building gets its poop pipes replaced!

Whats the plan for the 1st floor of Myles?

Mostly wasted after they closed the dining hall.

I think I've said this before but I'm saying it again: BU SUCKS for streel level activity
