Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

3rd proposed design of this just published in the BBJ, looks like a big improvement. Behind a pay wall so can't provide link.

Compare it to 3 months ago.....

Way more New York-ish!!

looks like a corner of the 2nd peak is pushing to top of FAA wtf :)

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

SUCH an improvement. This is SO MUCH BETTER. Loving the angled roof of the 2nd "tower". If they stick with this, I'll be happy.

Now if only it could have been 50'-75' taller :-/

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Approve this and lets get it built already

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Joe Larkin and Architect Stephen M haven't just listened to our suggestions.; They've DONE our suggestions. Joe was kind of pissed. But, now he's done it. This is insane.

We now have a world class '2-Tower' design. Combined with MT..... it's sort of a multi-peaked, miniature version of Hudson Yards – something i wouldn't have dreamed just a few years ago.

Just need Millennium Partners to buy the block at 1 Bromfield St and build that.... get SST and the Harbor Garage up, and the Downtown area will be f__ing incredible.

No-longer a faux sky bridge – but an actual sky bridge!

:)

So much better!!

Considering the constraints (height and developer required space) I don't think you could come up with anything better.

I'm not just saying this out of relief... This is stunning. I have never seen anything like this. There are now so many distinct features of this building, and they are all cohesive. This is iconic.

This is what Handel is truly capable of. My faith in them has been restored. I'm really puzzled as to how the DPIR ever happened.

This is certainly better than before, and probably "good enough for Boston," but suggesting that this is architecture worthy of compare to what's happening in the Hudson Yards is an ambitious overreach.

Speaking more practically, is that a garage door next to the Federal Street entrance?

Can always count on Beton Brut for a measured response.

This is as good as we've seen in Boston, but I'd stop short of "iconic". Which is fine; I like that this is a younger relative of MT instead of some freak thing. Nothing wrong with restraint.

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Being more critical, the great hall is nothing more then a nice lobby. I do think it's interesting how the developers were able to make a lobby sound like an asset to the city of Boston.

It's a LOBBY. Great Hall, wtf!

53 State has a similar large lobby. They don't go around calling it the great hall or an asset to the city. It's just a LOBBY. This will be similar.
