Then that means that real work really is starting soon. Sweet!

They were there pretty early this morning. They made the already snarled traffic in that area a mess - especially since some of the folks were about 5-7 feet into the street (on the garage side) and blocking one of the lanes and the bike lane's genesis location.

I always hated them so much, but I will definitely learn to empathize if someone can educate me more on their motives? And if their motives are justified, has a developer ever actually conceded and gave the construction jobs to the union?

"Live in this luxurious North End 1 bedroom furnished apartment! " North End? The zillow rep is directionally challenged.

LOL, it got me at "luxurious".

I see two rooms, one of which is a closet/living room that shares the fridge and microwave with the nook kitchen. The accommodations at the Yotel are more livable. But hey, if a Russian Oligarch wants to get park $900k in stolen bank money as quickly as possible, I guess it's a strategy.

Fencing going up around the property. Saw someone removing the parking equipment.

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Garage is closed. Such is saying so in spray paint above entrance.

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Great to see this moving forward...though, between the demo and the underground parking, it's going to be painful waiting for this thing to go vertical. Wake me up in a year and a half.

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

That is the laziest Garage Closed sign ever. They couldn't have put up a banner or something more professional?

Or at least take down the other signs, like the Public Parking?

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Garage was fenced off on Monday and small vehicles are accumulating on the grounds outside.

What are we talking here? Clown cars? Power wheels?

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Has anyone driven in to see any of the Bruins or Celtics playoff games since the garage was closed? Felger was raging about this the other day. Couldn't find a place to park.

If only The Garden were located near a mass transit hub.

Jackasses like Felger in his salmon pants ain't riding the T.

Suck it Felger!!

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Yeah, Felger was definitely on his high horse.

But despite mass transit and the universal understanding of its importance on this site, people insist on driving. Was just wondering what impact closing the garage had. The best impact would be people stop driving, but could be a mess for a while.

& Lyft/Uber drop offs.

Haha. Nice one. There’s the usual little bits of activity but nothing significant.

I think as much as the green space they’re adding got criticized on here, it’ll be really great to remove the wall of parking garage that actually reinforces the suburban feeling of the west end (by preventing you from seeing the fact that you’re adjacent to actual Boston) more than the green spaces themselves.

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

I’ve been to two Bruins games since they closed the garden garage (last two Saturday nights). Parked at Longfellow Place once and the big garage over Congress the other time. It was bad traffic getting out of both places. Worse than I recall from previous games. Will likely park further downtown (75 State or P.O. Square) next time.
