They certainly will need a crane to hoist the stack-of-books in that god-awful rendering. reference post #2.

that design is so badass

Badass! Perfect word, Chris, to describe this project! Seen from across the Charles, makes it even more badass, will be a real thorn in the side to both MIT and Harvard students! Harvard has it’s Yard, MIT has it’s Dome, but in a few years, BU will have it’s Data Center, which will be a new, and definitely badass, landmark for Boston!

this is the type of bold, "wacky" architecture that so many on this forum bemoan boston never having (other than the stata center -- and that's cambridge). it's not a supertall, or a skyscraper with a neat lit-up spire (i'd be very happy with the latter, potentially fine with the former (depending)), but this is bold, daring design. i love it.

55 years ago they were saying the same about the new Boston City Hall.

Hopefully that tower in kenmore goes up too and thatll add to the high spine as well from the charles.

Plus from Kenmore it will add a new tower on the right with fenway ctr adding a tower to the left of the new flat iron tower at kenmore sq.

The "landscape" is pretty dire too--some decent stuff along granby but just acres of paving along Comm Ave.

I have to agree. From the Charles this looks great, interesting. I am not so sure it is going to work up close.

Looks great from the river - - horribly out of context on Comm Ave.

This would've been a home run at Boston Landing along the Pike.

I don't think the Warren Towers have ever looked good from any angle.

One of the best features of this project is it tends to hide the Warren Towers in many views from the river.

The Warren Towers give us some much needed Soviet-style commie apartment block aesthetic in the midst of a sea of beautiful brownstones /s
