State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Why would they be up to the fifth floor on the east half of the structure and pause after the first floor on the west half? I don’t think I’ve seen that before.

They didn't pause. They started ahead on the east half and just put up the first floor on the other half very recently. This was the first time I had seen it fully connected all the way around.

This has really started to take form. Will be great to see this building rise. 😀👍

I live a block away so I'm fortunate to see its progression daily, and it's moving. fast. Continue to be very impressed with these developers and this project, overall. And at very minimum, this thing not being scaled down was a huge win.

This project in its entirety is such an incalculable net gain over that garage, it's insane.

For those of you who want to see it in person but don't live right in the city, there's free parking on Merrimac Street after 7 pm. During the winter in particular this is not going to be a popular destination, so you should be able to score parking 100% of the time on Sunday-Thursday at least. Get off at Leverett Connector, instead of merging onto Storrow bear right to go to North Station area (to Lomasney Way), go straight through the light where Causeway crosses Lomasney, then bear left onto Merrimac.

This line of cars is where to go, just past the handicap spots.

So it looks like the overhang comes down after the tower tops out. Interesting.

cool clip. really wish/hope they'd reconsider that state street logo. what is, essentially, "times new roman" doesn't gibe well with the aesthetic of this sleek, modern tower.

Has the crown always looked like this? I've been under the impression that the glass curtain wall would conceal the mechanical screen everywhere except the gap in the building's east side. Looks here like the screen will be visible from most angles. That's unfortunate. It will detract from the elegance of the overall form and rob it of some of its drama on the skyline.

video shows the garage will be coming down as the building is about half way. 1:05 mark shows the garage starting to come down and it then uses the inset video to show the garage coming down as the building continues to rise in the main shot.
