Not a pretty sight:
40+Million unemployed.
RIP--Consumer
Corporations are unloading their expenditures and cleaning up their balance sheets.
Local economies continue to be dead or lock-down.
The mindset is changing for the overall American worker to enjoy life not chase the rat race.
We are about to find out which corporations are over-leveraged?

This is going to be a bloodbath.

Times are going to change.

Winthrop will fall victim to the virus. This site will be auctioned off in the future.

LOL! What a coincidence! Just a few minutes ago I ran across a pic of Captain Pike updated for the Current Year.

Can some mod pls remove this political and in no way "architecture-based" photo and post, especially as it seems to come from someone on the wrong side of history with little in the way of logic, reason, or compassion and more than likely a healthy dose of fascist-loving tendencies?

I assume you're a Vulcan, since you seem to find "humor" a difficult concept?

I assume you weren't captain of your HS debate team, b/c that response is both pithy and nonsensical. Why not have Trump in your "innocent" and "funny" little Photoshop "joke," then?

Come on folks, everything in life isn't conservative vs. liberal. Very few things really are.

Could you explain the joke then? It certainly looks political, but I probably know too little about the show (especially the ‘66 version) to get it. My parents were toddlers when it came out.

That thing Biden is sitting in is a machine that beeps to communicate, implying he's a vegetable.

I'm a flaming leftest, but even I can find humor in dunking on Biden. Don't think it's appropriate to bring politics into this thread needlessly though.

It is political, and I wish we wouldn't get into these kind of left/right political detours. My initial post about Captain Pike was just for fun. not political.

The point of free speech is to have ideas be debated in public so people can see that it is a terrible idea.

Free speech did not work out to well for our old board member theRifleman. The entire reason the Rifleman got booted was because of politics like this now we have entire thread dedicated to this rhetoric.
Seems kind of hypocritical.

Do you know how many times I tried to make a separate thread specifically for Rifleman and your his, rantings? It was never enough. You He just constantly polluted other threads on the forum with off-topic rantings. Rifleman's banning wasn't about speech, it was about forum management.

This is... an odd thing to bring up for someone who isn't Rifleman and wasn't active here when he was... hmmmmmmm

Dshoost -- I don't want to get into a "xxxx contest" about economics.
I have no degree in the field although I studied it formally as an MIT undergraduate [economics was my "humanities concentration" -- taking economics subjects over 3 semesters including one with Paul Samuelson] while I was pursuing my degree in Physics and studying electrical engineering extensively and working in several different R&D Labs. A couple of years later I took some graduate courses in economics of energy supply while I was working on my Ph.D. on R&D related to controlled thermonuclear fusion.......

No one gives a shit.

KriterionBos -- This is Boston -- there is no way to know if they will ever break ground -- and that's ignoring the unusual dynamics of the COVID-19 Pandemic era

Having observed development in Boston / Cambridge since the 1960's many proposals which get to the stage of being approved -- still never happen at all
Go to Emporis and look at the table of skyscrapers in Boston -- there is a category and a color code for those proposed such as Menino's 1000 footer

This whole post is basically keyboard diarrhea that is completely opposed to the purpose of this thread. If you don't know something then just shut up and stop wasting everyone's time with posts like this.

Someone might know something, might have an idea more of a clue than you, might be an insider for the dev, engineering, or financial side of things and can say something as simple but useful "6- to 18 months from now" which is still arguable more valuable than whatever shit you just rambled off. Don't just fucking tell them to go read the BPDA site or re-read years of aB posts. That's not the point of this thread. The point of this thread is for someone to ask for an update and maybe someone who does know something replies with a valuable insight.

Medelpal -- I really appreciate your critical eye applied to my posts

Since you know why people make posts to every part of this forum - - you had all of the opportunity to respond to the original question -- but you didn't
I did

Sure perhaps others have further useful information to contribute -- they are free of course to do so -- that is the primary way we share ideas and information -- not just by delivery of animus

In the case of your post -- The first time I learn anything of value from you -- I'll be happy to acknowledge it

you had all of the opportunity to respond to the original question -- but you didn't
I did

No you didn’t. The poster asked “anyone know what’s happening with project x?” and you answered “I don’t! But let me go on about all this other stuff.”

No -- actually the poster posed this question:
Any idea when these will offically break ground?

and I responded in the only way one could -- rather than being totally dismissive

I did feel obligated to share some supporting information such go look at official sources such as the BPDA website [always a good starting point]
There are a lot of other means

Google the project name or address or try looking any number of unofficial but relatively well informed sources such as BizNow, Build-up, Boston Business Journal, or Banker and Tradesman or even Universal Hub [Development Tab] or even a local news source -- and use the search tool -- even if some of these are behind a paywall -- they often offer something

Sometimes it is worth looking at the developer's website for an update

None of this is "Rocket-Science" -- But -- some of the less experienced {e.g. new people) who participate or lurk about -- occasionally reading the forum may not be familiar with some of those means of finding out
