🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

Have there been any Seaport Transportation Studies as of recent?

A particular developer (MP) had proposed a $100 million gondola system that got abandoned and instead money and efforts were supposed to be placed in a transportation and mobility study focused on the Seaport.

Also, Northern Ave Bridge?

That bridge is a glaring failure by the Walsh administration. Between that and the issue with Long Island, how do you not get those things done as Mayor in what, 8 years? Its wild that no one is ever accountable. Hopefully Wu can get Northern Ave replaced in some form.

Wait? This is/was a thing?

You don't remember this one? Supposed to happen after the theater got renovated, and I'm pretty sure that piece of the equation is out of the way.

I remember it well. Over two years ago I reached out directly to the company in charge of the project to ask whether the long-delayed project was permanently shelved or just on hiatus. They said the latter (you can search that thread for this project for details). Well, it's the 2nd quarter of 2022 so I've pretty much lost any and all hope that this project is moving forward. Hope I'm wrong.

I wonder what how the theater scene suffered under Covid. If the Huntington, after reno, had to remain dark for the past two years, I would imagine the tower suffered an even longer hiatus.

The Huntington renovation is currently ongoing - Phase 1 , and they are open for business at the Boston Center for the Arts (Current events)

While the theatre scene certainly suffered due to Covid, The Huntington is still around and moving forward. No idea what the tower plans look like, but the theater renovation itself is coming along quite nicely. (Part of my job currently involves working on construction sites such as this one)

Has there been any movement on 171 / 145&165 Dartmouth St? Ie, the Back Bay Garage Redevelopment? How guaranteed is the supposedly BXP paid for station renovation if the air rights project never happens? Besides... delays would tend to only only make proposed renovation value "cheaper," if it was, as it seems, given as a fixed value due to inflation.

I thought I saw a story on 175 Federal Street recently that mentioned it was sold or changed hands. I remember reading the article and thinking about that proposed lobby renovation.

I'm hoping there is a whole re-evaluation of the proposal. I didn't like any of the architecture. It was way too boxy and stumpy in my opinion.
