And here is Zombie reacting like an archBoston member to seeing a crane.

Does anyone know if they ever toyed with the idea of putting housing on top of all the existing 1 story retail?

Well that section of Route 1 is slated for a sea of heavy residential and retail development. So it wouldn’t shock me.

I love everything about these renovations.

But hearing Jonathan Kraft say the hope is they never have to build another stadium is not what I want to hear. Thought these renovations were for the next 20 years - not “forever”

Was kind of hoping someday I’d see a stadium in the Boston (I know I know, we don’t have to go down that back and forth rabbit hole)

Finding land for a stadium that big in the Urban Core is not going to be easy. And Kraft likes his little fiefdom out in the middle of nowhere. I guess as long as it's not too onerous to ask people to make the trek 10-11 times a year it's not a big deal.

He says he “hopes.” Wink wink. Read between the lines my friend.

One of two things will happen in the next twenty years. The stretch of land between Foxborough and Canton will be so built up that it won’t matter to Kraft to bother with another stadium.

Or, he’ll find a mayor and a governor who’ll play ball and hopefully by then, the NIMBYS in the Seaport will have all died off.

Awesome renders!

Barely a month after work kicked off on a $225-million renovation project at the Foxborough, Mass., football and soccer venue, owner Kraft Group—which also owns the New England Patriots football team and Major League Soccer's New England Revolution, is eyeing another round of alterations with Gillette named as a host sites for the World Cup soccer event in 2026.

To meet the requirements of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), soccer’s international governing authority, Gillette committed in its bid to temporarily removing seats in the stadium corners, a spokesperson for the New England Revolution confirmed in an email.

I'd like to see them eventually add some partial roof coverings like they have in Seattle, but make them a bit larger and cover more of the stadium. This will amplify the crowd noise.

Agreed! Ive visualized this in my mind many times while looking at the stadium. The interesting part is that the way the lights are installed they could put some type of roof material over the beams creating a small roof. I wonder if they could extend the existing beams to pretty easily make a larger roof.

With this new construction, are they adding any new seats? It doesn't look like it.

I feel Gillette could easily hold 70,000 + and always sell out.

Maybe add some cheap seats for us plebes?
