Permitted hotel for sale | 188 High St | Downtown

Just got a facebook ad saying that this will be auctioned off. Not a great sign for this getting off the ground any time soon. Hopefully it'll get a redesign in the process

    Biking in Boston

I had a conversation with a city planner this week to discuss the connect downtown project - https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/0913a156b1a7409eb69687cf268d076e. In the first phase (as already shared), they are focusing on making the protected bike lanes around the Common permanent. This...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

For the first time I submitted comments on a projects (obviously in favor of it). I'm 25 and I'm planning to buy a condo in the next 5 years. The more supply that is built between now and then, the better. The alternative, a hulking parking garage in very prominent location, is a terrible...

    Biking in Boston

I'm not sure if it is part of the process of making them permanent, but the bike lanes around the common and public garden are gone.

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

I noticed this the other day and I don't believe it's been posted The spring edition of the Bruce Freeman rail trail says that the Acton to Concord connector over rt 2 is going to start construction imminently. Having grown up very close to the spot of the bridge, it's a major add that bridges...

Freight and General New England RR News

As someone who works in the industrials M&A, I have to imagine this will go strategic (i.e. not a private equity firm). Lending is effectively frozen for deals like this, making leverage hard. I wonder how open the sell side would be to MassDOT doing a carve out on some of the key lines

    Biking in Boston

While the Tremont improvements seem to be well thought out, I wish that the improvements for COVID created a more fluid connection than what's pictured on the map. How hard could it be to route it over Tremont instead of Shawmut...

    Biking in Boston

A couple of days ago, there was a virtual open house for making Tremont street safer in the South End. Projects limits are roughly from Mass ave to where it meets 90 - so this is a good sized project that stretches the length of the South End A couple of links...

    The New Retail Thread

The au bon pain on Cambridge street in the West end/beacon Hill has closed. There are signs that a flour will replace it and open in the spring. As someone who lives close, this is clearly an upgrade and helps solve the problem of no good fast breakfast place in beacon Hill

Thanks for answering rather than go off on a tangent. Shake shack isn't a bad alternative

    The New Retail Thread

I stumbled upon this today - https://www.chick-fil-a.com/Locations/MA/Terminated-One-Milk-Street-In-Line Obviously the word terminated isn't a good sign, but does anyone know what this is about? Having a chick fil in dtx would be a big add

    The New Retail Thread

Some good news. Amelia's is opening a 4th location on the corner of mass and bolyston. Former spot of zest. Talked to the manager of a different location and they said they are opening sometime in January. Sings are already up

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

The other week I was in NYC and I tried Xi'an famous foods - it was absolutely fantastic. So I poked around online and saw that it plans to come to Boston, but the plans seem to be a bit delayed. The last update I found is that they plan to come by YE2019. Does anyone have any updates...
