    Boston Nightlife

Why don't you know? One bar does not a nightlife make. One bar is character at best. Another location of theirs is a cop bar. Any number of restaurants within a short distance will sell you a beer after hours as well. Who wants to go down there at night? I dunno. I would be a liar if I said I...

    Arborway Restoration

The roadway is not wide enough for the trolley. The CNG busses will likely be claimed to mitigate the pollution on their own. As a resident of JP I would hope they do not return, merely for practical reasons. Centre St. is no wide enough for the traffic it handles now.

    MBTA Construction Projects

Re: T construction news There could well be a utility trench below the asphalt which was not allowed enough time to settled properly, before paving. If you've ever wondered a trench is paved temporarily after sewer work or the like, and left this is it. Don't want to go off topic with this...

    Hancock of the day...

I used to work on 42 there. You'd be amazed at the things that fly by the window at 400 feet. Do the doors still creak when it's windy? I had a job that required me to work on the Fourth. Looking down on the fireworks was fun. Not a fan of the way it slams into the street, or focuses wind...

    Boston in the Seventies

I see talk of "real" cities. I see talk of a number of criteria that make a city. I question it. While we can say that Boston may be better off than it was in the 70's, on a number of levels, It has also lost a sense of self. There are any number of pros and cons in the last 30 odd years. For...

Photo of the Day, Boston Style - Part Deux

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Re: Green Line to Medford to start in 2011 It may just be me, but I remember when the state wasn't looking to be a for profit entity. I can't rationalize it, but I am not for selling the air rights over publicly held parcels. Come to think of it, I don't like the ads on Busses either. I am...

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center My understanding is that a rep did not want something in the area they represented and voted against Casino legislation and was rewarded.

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center I would not be surprised, to see more work on this location, I am led to believe. Enough, to ensure the permitting process does not need to be gone through again. I have not read this whole thread. I will not lie. Perhaps somewhere it makes mention of the fact that the...

Indoor Foot Bridge from Seaport District

The 4,6,7,171,448, and 449 busses are non-Silverline busses servicing the Seaport. As for a walkway protected from the weather? I don't know. I hope not. Weather and light are a part of the equation in experiencing any part of the city. I can experience a hallway lots of places. The idea...

Re: Russia Wharf Regarding the name, the signage and hardhat stickers say Russia Wharf.
