MIT New 450-bed Residence Hall | 121 Vassar St. | Cambridge

It's kind of like the Charles Hotel, but not as pretty. Speaking of the Charles Hotel, I'm reminded of the headline from the late, lamented Weekly Week (a late 1990s local satirical paper, a la The Onion with the motto "Boston's only news source for redundant news"): "Qbert attacks Charles Hotel"

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I would go a little further and divert the 350 to Medford instead of Alewife, or introduce another route that connects the 350 corridor with the Green Line via West Medford (like a 350A, North Burlington to Medford, or even a connecting route from Arlington Heights). It would likely be a quicker...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett Forgive me if I missed it, but are there any plans to extend the 93 up to the casino? As of now only the last few hundred feet of the 93 run through Sullivan Square, which, if done correctly can be remedied with a bus lane. The rest is on the relatively lightly...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett Not a bad idea. Maybe any potential B&B owners can give them cutsey, geographically themed names, IE the Tank Farm B&B, Mystic Power Station Inn, The Pension LNG, etc.

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

I remember that being an argument at a Selectmen's meeting in Lexington when the Minuteman was proposed. I was in high school at the time and remember my biology teacher, a Watertown native who had a thing against "snooty towns" (not to mention, Lexington was our school's rival, so I think he...

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Yeah, I wouldn't classify it as "infill" so much as a replacement.

Market Central (née Mass + Main) | 415 Mass Av | Cambridge

Re: Mass + Main | 415 Massachusetts Avenue | Cambridge Quest Diagnostics. I always wondered what they were doing in there. I remember walking by there one Thursday night at about 11 on sometime in the 90s while my way to ManRay and seeing people working away as if it was the most normal thing...

Presumably they'll have to implode it. That ought to at least be interesting...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

And the top five floors will be made of pressed wood. (jk ;-) )

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

My first thought when I read that was the bar at the Crown & Anchor. I wonder who their target audience is.

New & Renovated Boston Fire Stations

I'd hate to see that. Even though it stands out from its neighbors, the 700 Tremont St fire station is a pretty decent piece of midcentury architecture. It appears to be in good shape and still quite functional.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Dunno about Delta, but I definitely flew direct to Savannah on JetBlue in March of 2014.

Suffolk County Courthouse Discussion | 3 Pemberton Square | Government Center

It would be the Commonwealth, since there is no county (and hasn't been one since the 1990s). Considering that several hundred million dollars was just sunk into restoration and renovation of the adjacent Adams Courthouse, this might be penny wise but very pound foolish. The central location of...

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

This is about the New Courthouse, at 3 Pemberton Square, not the John Adams (nee Old) Courthouse. I'm in there several times per week for business at the Land Court. Other than relatively slow elevators and loud window ACs, it doesn't seem to be in particularly bad shape.

Our Lady of Good Voyage | Seaport Sq Parcel H | 55 - 57 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

They built it in an area with eyes wide open about the developments and potential developments being built around it. Both Trinity and New Old South have been there for well over a century.

    General Infrastructure

Agreed. Beg buttons have no place in urban areas (with the exception of the occasional lightly used midblock crossings). The expectation should be that there is always someone waiting to cross.

Jeez. That is just as stupidly tone deaf as the airline's inept response. Do you do PR for them or something?
