This building is looking really impressive against the sky. It is rising head and shoulders above its surroundings, and can be seen from across town and Cambridge. Its good to see another high rise cluster forming outside of downtown.

I think that it is concrete too. If you look at the sides of the panel, you can almost see tiny air bubbles that were trapped when the concrete was set. Unless those are tiny fossils, though I doubt it...

And we can't forget that the Customs House Tower was added to the original neoclassical Customs House building.

^Does Boston really need more greenspace? I'd rather see a restoration of the street grid through City Hall Plaza (mainly the extension of Hanover st to Cambridge st). I'd also prefer that the building be preserved for another use, and to redevelop the plaza. Putting up a tall building next...

How do height restrictions make for an average neighborhood, architecturally speaking? And it is the rte. 128 inspired architecture that makes this neighborhood dull, in my opinion. Not to mention the cheap construction materials and lack of an all encompassing master plan.

Early stages of construction may have already started on this project. There is some equipment on the site and a few piles of dirt.

^Wow, I didn't realize that this would be so close to Main Street. The offices where I work are right at the corner of that rendering. As it stands, the land where this building will be built is a parking lot.
