Does the podium/ground level have any retail space?

The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

I'm surprised they didn't do a hotel/condo residence project from the beginning. I don't know where they would find the space, as location is everything for the top-tier brands/flags--and I'm sure other premium luxury brands like Rosewood, Park Hyatt, Peninsula, and Waldorf Astoria--would like...

    The New Retail Thread

I see Bvlgari is opening a store on Newbury Street. It also appeared there is a nice space available for lease on Newbury as well.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

I agree on Etihad, I just know they're aggressive in growth as well. Don't forget Turkish Airways as well. The O&D business traffic between Boston/New England and Seoul/South Koreal has to be up there as well. Combine that with the large hub at Icheon, I don't see why it wouldn't be a success...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

I see Korean Air will finally be getting the 787s, with the first flights planned for March. Could they be looking at Seoul-Boston service at some point? They seem to be the one airline and hub (Seoul/South Korea), at least to me, that would come add Boston. Also, weren't there rumors of Eva...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett I didn't find the discussion, but thank you. I imagine you'll see a lot of the luxury brands that are having a hard time finding the right space (size, location) that haven't entered the Boston market yet possibly set up shop here. Prada is one that comes to...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett Any idea on how much space in terms of square footage that the retail corridor of this property will offer? Any ideas or rumors of what retailers will open locations in the retail area?

Kind of hard to guess considering she's 47. Her kids could be in college or older. I know Boston has a lot of money, but I didn't think it had this much to fulfill the demand. The salaries people must make in Boston--after taxes--are much higher than I would think considering the cost of...

Mandarin Oriental | 776 Boylston St | Back Bay

Premium product/brand (Mandarin Oriental), location, new built. I suspect the new FS property will compete.

Mandarin Oriental | 776 Boylston St | Back Bay

When the Battery Wharf hotel-condo that opened with Fairmont managing it, before getting de-flagged not too long ago, did that hurt the condo values and selling appeal after it got de-flagged?

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Thanks for the information on Alitalia. I was wondering why it wasn't showing up in any of ticket sites for January. I wonder how Etihad's 49% stake in Atitalia will impact the airline, and in particular, any long-term effect on their service to Boston. Korean Air has a massive and perfectly...

Mandarin Oriental | 776 Boylston St | Back Bay

Taj isn't bad, but their properties are rather inconsistent across the chain to be on 5-level. The new FS property will be very nice due to it being a new built. People can complain about the Mandarin Oriental vs. Conrad, and the luxury brands, but they're pretty strong...

Mandarin Oriental | 776 Boylston St | Back Bay

I would split the brands into two "luxury" classes: Cream of Crop, 5-Star: Mandarin Oriental, FS, Ritz-Carlton, Rosewood, St. Regis, Park Hyatt, Peninsula, Aman Resorts 4-Star Plus: Waldorf, Conrad, Fairmont, InterContential, Shangri-La, Taj Hotels/Resorts, Langham

    MA Casino Developments

Will the resort have a big retail space? I know, judging from the retail thread here, that a lot of luxury/high-end retailers are interested in Boston, but haven't been able to find the right space yet...seems like Wynn could be a strong option here?

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

The next airline I'm waiting on is Korean Air. I believe they start taking delivery of their 787s next year. One to watch. BTW, does Alitalia only fly seasonally? Also, more of a fantasy question, but any chance Singapore Airlines could come to Boston in the next decade...

Do the Affordable Housing Laws Work?

I 100% disagree on the several fronts--philosophically/politically--but this is a bigger problem that goes way beyond the scope of this debate. Boston is kind of an unique place for a variety reasons, including the massive amount of land that colleges and universities own (and pay no taxes in...

    Boston 2024

Weird comment. Why wouldn't Boston, or any host city in the world, go for this?
