Those renders are beautiful. Those long escalators they are proposing will pretty much be similar to the ones we have at Porter... only they won't be piece of junk Westinghouses.

I am at Porter twice a day. no one has more job security than the mechanics at those escalators. Every two weeks it breaks

EDIT: Those pics are awesome.

Nice pics. I gotta wonder though... will they regret not going with Option 1 (reuse lower level) in the long run?

^ It's funny because he's fat AND he's got grey hairs.

But come on...like the previous "Spring 2013" release date wasn't a load of hogwash to begin with. Rockstar is notorious for this kind of stuff, and I knew when I heard "Fall 2012" years back that it would probably end up being more like Spring 2014, which at this pace they are 95% on track for. That's just how they roll.

I'm pissed about Rayman Legends. With 19 days until the scheduled WiiU-exclusive launch, Ubisoft decided to delay the f'cking game 9 MONTHS to launch it cross-platform on the 360 and PS3. The entire game is heavily based on WiiU mechanics and was completely done and ready to ship. It doesn't make sense why they couldn't just release the amazing WiiU game now and make everyone else wait that uses other platforms. Apparently Microsoft has a rule that cross-platform games must launch together, but seriously, Ubisoft should have told Microsoft to fuck off.

Whenever I read about this project, I have to wonder how many miles of subway extension NYC could have built for the cost of helping suburbanites access a station a few blocks away from the station they originally arrived at.

I thought the real purpose was to de-congest Penn Station by diverting some local traffic to less-crowded Grand Central.

It will also add infill stations to Sunnyside and Long Island City, so it will be helping neighborhoods in Queens somewhat.

Maybe it will help them develop as business hubs (no one from these neighborhoods is going to take LIRR into Manhattan) but extending the subway could have also achieved that aim while also covering more territory in the city.

How much is this project pegged at? $

It's unbelievable. Doesn't even look possible/real. Like John said, science fiction!

After this and the Gateway Project are completed , there won't be any large Suburban catering projects only Urban projects. If you pamper the Suburban areas they won't complain if you pitch an Urban project.....

Its moving around the Regional Rail network , to allow the system to be expanded and to take pressure off the Subway Network which is overcapacity on some lines and the bus system which is exploded. NJT to Grand Central and an Expanded Regional Rail Network in NJ would greatly benefit the region.....but thats on hold till the Gateway.

Holy shit, boston.com is awful:

Yeah? Just wait till Ernie Bock Junior, ERNIE BOCK JUNIOR, Ernie Bock JUNIOR takes over and shows up in phony baloney TV ads dressed as a ink stained press man tending the rollers.

If the man were a cat he'd lick himself to death.
