My favorite politically incorrect joke about that flight was this gem on my newsfeed:

"Have they tried looking for the Malaysian plane under boat tarps in Watertown?"

Way to combine two horrific events into one terrible joke.

And now my keyboard has spit coffee all over it. That's too funny

A Startlingly Simple Theory About the Missing Malaysia Airlines Jet
BY CHRIS GOODFELLOW03.18.146:30 AM

There has been a lot of speculation about Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. Terrorism, hijacking, meteors. I cannot believe the analysis on CNN; it’s almost disturbing. I tend to look for a simpler explanation, and I find it with the 13,000-foot runway at Pulau Langkawi...

No crazy pilot-suicide or hijacking speculation, just facts and the most LOGICAL and REASONABLE explanation based on what we currently know. The way the media has handled this (mostly CNN) event continues to be nothing short of deplorable, reporting on every crazy theory and sensationalizing every detail.

RE: your edti...There are actually three places he could have probably landed: Langkawi, Penang, and Phucket, Thailand. It's still very possible that he turned towards one of them, or turned back, when/if there was a fire/cabin depressurization. All it takes is a quick bump of the steering column and maybe, just maybe it cause the flight to turn south and just fly until it ran out of fuel.

Brutal. Funny, but brutal.

The reason I believe that article is discredited is because that night the timeline was clarified - the turn was entered into the computer at least 12 minutes before the pilot said "good night." When that article was written, it was unknown if the turn was programmed before or after the sign off. The rule of aviation is AVIATE, NAVIGATE, COMMUNICATE. Now that we know the turn was programmed in before the sign off, it makes absolutely no sense for them to be dealing with a fire or emergency and never mention a single thing about it, instead signing off with a very seemingly normal* goodnight.

*The sign off itself is suspicious because the proper communication protocol was not followed. The MH370 crew should have said the flight number (MH370) and heading when signing off to the ATC. All they said was "All right, good night."

Brutal. Funny, but brutal.

Okay I admit it...I don't get the joke.

Edit: Is that a play on words for "which way"?

I looked it up. As I suspected, it's another Pokemon reference. If you're over 12 you probably shouldn't have gotten it.

I'm 23. I was 8 when Pokemon Red/Blue came out - the prime age to be immersed in the Poke-mania of the late 90s. Excuse me for having a childhood and enjoying it again (in a unique way) with 90,000 people simultaneously. It's actually a fascinating social experiment that miraculously worked: http://www.theverge.com/2014/3/1/54...ewers-beat-massively-multiplayer-pokemon-game

The image I posted was intended as an inside joke for a select number of people on this board my age who also enjoy gaming (I know personally there are others on this board who enjoyed TPP). The short explanation is that since 90,000 people were inputting commands, getting to a destination was difficult and often resulted in walking back and forth and in circles due to the erratic inputs from each individual person (up, start, a, left, right, up, up... etc).

I enjoyed my childhood also but I can't say I've ever felt compelled to pick up a Nintendo at the secondhand store or partake in a game of tee ball.

I think it's more of a, if you're not born between the mid 80s to early 2000s. Pretty sure most people started playing and kept playing Pokemon at least up to college.

Is it though? We have people cosplaying their favorite cartoon or comic book characters. We still have adults watching Marvel or DC Comic Movies in theaters. Not really any difference between the two.

It's not worth the effort, Kent. It's a generational thing in general, but this debate isn't really fueled by that. It's fueled solely by kmp's usual superiority complex.

Some people feel the need to kmpensate for unrelated shortcomings.

I'm pretty sure kmp has a few guilty pleasures lying here and there. C'mon kmp, you don't need to hide it from us.

Oh yea, I've got a real chip on my shoulder. Most people find the fixation of some adults on the subjects mentioned above to be strange. If you want to spend your time playing G-rated video games or dressing up as comic book characters, that's fine, that's your business but at the same time, if I want to say you look like a fucking loser in your Power Ranger costume, I can.
