"Trans National Place" sounds a little strange to me. Way to go Belkin.

Especially with "International Place" being about a half-mile away.

That sounds bad. Like it could be any building, big or small. How about Belkin center? A center, to me, necessarily implies a large building. whereas just 'building' could be a gas station or, worse, an out house.

I predict that it will eventually be called the T N place or TN tower if it is, indeed, named Trans National Place. As for the design, which I really like, is there any other tower out there with the spire designed into the side of the building other than the unbuilt Russia Wharf building? If the spire really does incorporate the elevators..some being glass express lifts to the "sky park," or whatever pet name it will be known as, that elevator ride alone would be an incredible draw for tourists and locals alike! I think it would rival the London Eye.

You mean, like the Empire State Building, or the Chrysler Building?

Point well taken. But I still think "empire" hints at something large. and the Chrysler building could just be a garage. Same with the "Belkin Building." sounds like it could be a utility shed or something. I rather like trans national place.

Why not call it "the net." for N.E.T. >> "new england's tallest."

New York State's official monikor is the Empire State. I think that's where the name of the building came from. Following that idea we might have the "Bay State Building".

How about the MASSive tower? or how about the Mass-Ave. Tower (pronounced Massive with an accent, like mass-of towah)?

this is pretty far from Mass. Ave.

Now, if Boylston Square gets revived...

shows how much I know about street geography in Boston. Why not call it "The Pinnochio"

'Cause its protuberance can only get shorter...

ahh, unless there are scandals and cover ups associated with behind the scenes deals and costs etc. along the way. Then we can have a chea-pet skyscraper: grows with the extent of lying.

Why not just call it the anomaly tower? or just an anomaly period.

How do we know it won't take the name of its major tenant?

In the article, it says that Belkin would like the tower to be named Trans National Place or

Trans vestite Place. A tower that is also a public park? Come on! :D

ZenZen, you don't happen to be a fan of Arrested Development, do you?

We'll we've got The Intercontinental, International Place, now Trans-National Place, someone better hurry up and copyright Inter-Trans-Continational Place before it gets taken. I still like The Winthrop Tower--classy sounding and appropriate, but what's class and appropriateness when there's a corporation to be advertised.
