121 Seaport Boulevard | Parcel L2 | Seaport Square

The base and tower of this thing kinda give off a feeling of funky modern reinterpretation of the Lever House.

That's another in progress shot I kinda wish was closer to the finished product.
I like the Halo on top of it right now at the penthouse roof level.

loving this pic (and the building -- and w/o trying to start the whole, usual shitstorm: i do wish it was going to be another 20 floors b/c it's cool)

^This building in particular really would look great with double the height. C'est la vie.

This may be a minor detail to the folks critical of this whole thing:

But to me, for whatever reason, it's the glass color that's just really disappointing...

Yupp I'm on board, the glass sucks.

To Van's point, I used to really agree especially when looking at it in 2 dimensions... going down there now since its more fleshed out has an interesting vibe that I'm not completely opposed to.

What a surprise! People think everything sucks! I live in the Seaport and it looks fine in person. The glass is also covered in dust right now from the constant dust cloud that is Parcel M.

I can understand how certain narratives form in people's minds when they mix together random snippets from each contributor on here...but I assure you we all don't think "everything sucks"...

If you need clarity of one person's take: I am overall a huge fan of the seaport. I am a pragmatist who believes that without the aggressiveness by which it was pursued in recent years, it would have otherwise been desolate parking lots for the next 2-3 decades at least...and considering the difficulty of doing urban planning among dozens of stakeholder parties all operating at full-speed ahead, it is coming out pretty damn good.

Did you miss cca's comment on the seaport thread about how nicely the urban fabric is coming together on seaport boulevard? Or the numerous other comments about how the street life is sparking up lately?

Regarding 121 Seaport: all I said is that they botched the glass color.

And yes, it's a squat fatty, but who cares, it will be mostly blocked by the (ostensibly) well designed M parcels once they rise up (in the very near future).

Just ask yourself, periodically, if you are self-constructing others' narratives in your own head.
