761-793 Boylston Street | Back Bay

That poor old building needs to be put out of its misery.

I don’t know. As much as I mourn the loss of the cornice, parapet, greenhouse, and street-clock, someone obviously took a lot of thought on proportionality of the precedent arches when the orangery was replaced with the set-back bays for the building extension on Fairfield. If one didn’t know it wasn’t original, it would be hard to tell the Fairfield side is newer than the Boylston frontage. These days, my main complaint is what Capital One did to whore out their absurd “cash a check and consume a coffee” scheme.

The original layout would make one heck of a dining room for a restaurant.

Before the Capital One Bank, wasn't this an Anthropologie Store for a LONG time?

Hearing from both Abe & Louie’s and Atlantic Fish staff that Tavistock has engaged demo and remediation contractors for the former C&B space. Not clear if this is for a short-term potential commercial lease or part of due diligence for the full site redevelopment/additional height. Will try to get more info this week as permits get posted.
