Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

That's the Boston section of the Lake Shore Limited. Hits Framingham, Worcester, Springfield, and Pittsfield and meets the NYC section in Albany. Rochester, Buffalo, Cleveland, Toledo, Chicago. The westbound section leaves Boston at 1pm, eastbound section nominally gets in at 8pm but it's rarely on time.

EGE is correct, the only Amtrak train that runs there is the Lake Shore Limited (to/from Chicago).

Maybe someday additional Amtrak trains will run there if Amtrak restarts Inland Route trains.

Inland Route trains (then still Regional - the Northeast Regional brand didn't appear till 2008) stopped running in 2004.

Second to last picture. Where is the hotel supposed to go? Where the green land is or is the hotel a no go.

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Its going in that space, thats why theres a blank wall and grass there.

I don't see any indication of any substantive work on the station, or maybe the work is out of frame?

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

stellar - No action at all!!!! Even the stakes they put in over the summer are gone now.

Beeline -- great series of pix on NB

It's interesting to note that 4 of the major recent developments in the Greater Boston Hub [aka along and inside Rt-128] are all about athletics and specifically shoes and sneakers:
  • Waltham rt-128 @ rt-20 conversion of former Polaroid manufacturing complex into HQ for Clarks America -- 1265 Main St.

  • Waltham -- Wolverine Worldwide HQ of its Sperry Top-Sider, Saucony, Keds and Stride Rite brands at 10 CityPoint in Waltham -- Rt-128 @ exit 27 just below the Westin

  • Boston North Station conversion of former Submarine Signals building to HQ for Converse
  • Boston Brighten Landing on I-90 -- NB

is there more here of this genre?

so those trees they just planted will be coming down? Or can they somehow work around them?

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

They'll just easily move them. Looks like they just want the dead space looking presentable while they wait for the tower to be built. Could be a while until it gets built so I think they're just trying to activate the space until then.
