Cambridge Infill and Small Developments

And, of course, they "forget" that Alexandria is about to demolish a whole city block of cheap good quality startup office space to build Rogers St park...

I winder if they could buy the salvation army site on the other side of the fire station and build there.

The Salvation Army recently constructed a new expansion facing Green Street attached to their existing building.

Here is a shot of the Salvation Army's expansion.

This is the park that Forest City would like to build the residential tower on. The park is adjacent to the fire house and the Salvation Army expansion.

Can I play James Howard Kunstler for a minute with regard to that Salvation Army building?

"With architecture like that, this is a civilization that deserves its inevitable fall."

It’s the only green space pedestrians on the avenue come across in the roughly two-thirds of a mile between City Hall at Inman Street and the MIT campus after Vassar Street, but the Forest City residential tower replaces the entire rear of the park and takes up even more of it with retail or dining toward the avenue

Except for the new triangular park built right across the fucking street, in plain sight. The actual park in question is not even "on the avenue" - it's obscured by the fire station and quite frankly I never knew it existed, despite having walked down Sydney many times. Quite unlike the much larger University Commons a block down, and the wide open field three blocks down the street.

So much for the salvation of the streetwall...

Did you all know there is a rooftop garden in Kendall?

I assume that's the rooftop garden of which a part will be taken for the Boston Properties / Google inter-office connection.

Here's Watermark 2 or whatever it's being called:
