Cambridge Infill and Small Developments

Very European. Not the typical Boston drab brick. I think yes, the building is jarring, but it's at least something different. The contrast is so clear in that photo with the boring brick tower and then the Euro-contemporary infill with the full curtain wall system of solid and glazed panels.

Mein Gott in Himmel, that is green ugliness. The architectural equivalent of a jalopy.

Yeah no; I don't think this rises to the level of "Euro-contemporary infill". One case where I may have actually preferred the one story commercial building that came before.

This will look like absolute trash in 50 years, like anything else built in this style when it was last popular:

Lots of action at the Google site. Most of the sidewalk along Main Street is closed with a small covered sidewalk remaining. In addition half of the garage top garden is gone.

75 Ames Street is in the background.

They are down to bare concrete and you can see on the right that they have begun with the prep work on Cambridge 4. Nothing happening on this side of Cambridge 5 yet.

P.S. They are installing a second crane at 75 Ames. It is going up just to the right of the little red and white triangle.

Some major work is in progress on Cambridge 3. They have also started to strip away the facing on Cambridge 5 directly across from this hole in Cambridge 3.

Crane is in place for the second phase of 610 Main. They still have about 30% of the foundation to be poured (mostly along Main Str.).
