Just saw a few days ago (to my surprise) that the building on the SE corner of River St and Putnam Ave has been torn down. Anyone know if anything noteworthy is happening there?

It was talked about a couple of years ago, but it surprised me too when the corner was empty.

Would've been cool to hollow out this building, totally save the exterior and use it as the first two floors of a supertall.

Glass-enclosed fire-rated stairs are sexy, but expensive af. Fire-rated glass is not cheap. Nice to see it survive VE.

You can use typical glazing systems for that stair if the adjoining walls are rated, or if it is specifically sprinklered. Lots of ways around using fire rated glass.
