I walked by this site yesterday for the first time in a while. The small building shown in the rendering (144 Dyer) isn't being demolished. It's this smaller building in front of it (160 Dyer, according to google maps). According to the rendering, it looks like it was always going to come down and become green space. Based on the photos in the April article, and the progress I saw yesterday, the demo is slow going (but progressing). I wonder if the "investigation" the go local article references held things up a bit? Not sure what that was all about.I believe I just recently saw something that demolition has begun on the small red brick building to the right of this proposed development. RI Energy Demolishes Riverfront Building in Providence
RI Energy is demolishing one of two brick structures along the Providence River downtown. According to tax records, the existing property at 144 Dyer Street was built in 1900 as a warehouse.
It doesn't look like there's any activity on the new construction yet.
