Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

... maybe we start to see a small recovery in 5 years I just don't know how they can service the debt.

Your negativity never ceases to amaze. Once there is a viable vaccine widely available to the masses (sometime 2021), people will resume to the way life was before covid, perhaps slow at the outset but it will happen. Crowded events will be popular once again and I, for one, am looking forward to it.

FERC dismissed Exelons' subsidization demand to ISO NE, and power plant closure will go on. The old house Unit 7 and Mystic Jet will cease operations May 31, 2021, while Units 8 and 9 will be closed when the cost of service agreement expires in May 2024.

Look at the size of that waterfront plot! Everett better hurry up putting together a Master Plan for the area. https://massgaming.com/wp-content/u...ansportation-Planning-Project-Application.pdf

There's a thread for the Mystic Generating Station site here:
Potential Exelon Mystic Station Redevelopment | Everett

Just caught this today.

"The results reported today reflect the first full month of GGR collected after casinos were permitted to reopen in Phase 3 of the Commonwealth’s phased reopening. The three licensees collected 83% of GGR on approx. 49% of gaming positions available, as compared to August 2019." - Mass Gaming Commission

To be at 83% of gross gaming revenue from a year earlier with only 49% of gaming positions available is pretty darned impressive. The table game share at Encore is definitely down considerably without Roulette, Craps, and Poker, but impressive nonetheless given social distancing.

The expanded spreadsheet is pretty impressive too, the rebound in total money flowing through the place is pretty incredible. Also that they're up to $3.1B flow through at this point...

ICYMI Encore Boston Harbor buffet has closed. It looks like they’re turning it into a sports bar, or hopefully a sports book.

As soon as sports books are legal, this is a huge money maker for the place. Buffets aren't coming back anytime soon - I wonder how many crab legs will stay attached and in the ocean... :(

I was actually planning to go back, post Covid, just for the buffet. I hadn't tried it but heard it was good, and the space itself looked really fun and festive. Now I have no reason to return in the foreseeable future.

Question though... Are we sure that picture is even for the buffet? It doesn't seem to resemble the area that I remember it being in.

I'm not a gambler so that buffet was my favorite part of going to the Encore. I sincerely hope it isn't closed permanently!

Well that was pretty much the only interest I had in ever going to Encore, so....

I adore Encore…but have not been back since March…when they were having Chinese New Year celebrations. Oddly enough…think I got COVID shortly after. Might not have been from there…but you never know. So want to go back…as I love playing slots…and downing Bloody Marys…if I can find a good cocktail waitress. Service varies between great and nonexistent.

My partner and I loved the fritattas at the buffet. I'd be planning to go back just for those amazing bites.

Count me in as someone who only goes to casinos for the buffet. RIP Encore

Awful news! The job losses, along with the loss of tax revenue is tremendous. Everett, Boston, and the state are big losers if this news is true and the place is sold.
