Good. They should have had the sportsbook open back in August for the start of the NFL season. Let's hope there aren't any further delays in the rollout.

Wynn Resorts’ newest vision for the company’s land across Broadway from its Encore Boston Harbor casino in Everett includes two hotels with ballrooms, three parking garages, a theater, restaurants, clubs — 1.8 million square feet of development in all.

And it is reported they are seeing to expand gambling operations into the new complex.

“Encore parent company Wynn Resorts plans to construct a new building on what’s now surface parking lots across Broadway, to host a dedicated poker room, a second sports betting parlor, a relocated nightclub, a theater, parking garage and more. It would be connected to the casino by a pedestrian bridge.

Regulators have ruled that the 2013 vote in Everett green lit gaming not just on the site of the current casino but also on land across the street, where Wynn is planning a sports betting parlor and poker room...”

One hotel will have 500 rooms, the other 300 rooms. The existing hotel at the casino has 671 rooms. Probably a safe bet that neither hotel will be taller than Encore Boston.

Although the current hotel is unbelievably wide, so it's possible that they build the 500-room hotel at half the width and it ends up being taller?

Heh heh, "Broadway Theatre" is a bit fanciful of a name, evoking visions of a very different Broadway in the theater district of Manhattan, but whatever works is fine. I wish them the best of luck and the City of Everett as well. It's great what they're doing to transform this heavy industrial no-mans land into a vibrant place.

Wynn Resorts won the auction to buy up the Mystic Generating Station across the street
It would be great if the state could use this opportunity to get rapid transit built into Everett. Sadly, it probably means a lot of new car parking garages.

The MBTA can't even operate with its current schedule/lines. Until the MBTA restores even an American standard of service, there is no hope for that.

Images from the Globe article, showing what Encore bought, and transit lines.

Globe credits CBRE for both images.

It really does look like this is the ideal spot for the Revs. Lab Space is (of course) the other option but it's a tad awkward unless a CR infill stop near the Casino is done. Which I understand is not possible with diesel.

Housing probally not realistic.
