Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

My favorite is a local establishment that has cheap bud lights in plastic cups...They used to be a $1 I think its 2 or 3 now. They then "run out" of bud light every single night around the same time. You can then order a bud light in a glass later in the night for full price. Its magical

Even scumbags who fondle war widows, yes.

I never said he was a good or bad person.
The Mayor completely game changed the landscape for Everett by finding a corporate investor to buy as much property in and around Everett naturally driving up Home prices due to a vision from Steve Wynn.

I believe the Home Prices would have continued the uptrend because of Somerville and Cambridge but he really changed 99 (The Line and the rest of the area)
Everett has nice Hotels now.

Everett is not a blue collared town anymore it is moving into a future Entertainment venue.

I will say this that the Casino development has been sailing along without too many issues besides Steve Wynn getting kicked out of his own company.
Never know if Troubled waters arise with the visionary gone.

I assume Wynn will be an interested party in the debate over Exelon’s proposed retirement of Mystic Station and the Distrigas terminal. I doubt they want them in the neighborhood for too long and they’re probably the only party with the resources to redevelop the properties.

Letters are going up on the front. "E" and "n" are there as of this morning.

I suspect that the math on that redevelopment will be hard to make work.

Wynn could afford the cleanup of the casino site, because it is a casino (as in drops money out of the sky).

The Exelon and Distrigas sites are certainly going to require hazardous waste remediation as well, but Wynn does not get another casino in exchange. Any other kind of development will make the cleanup hard to justify.

Cant wait to see the high speed low slung ferrys that dont have to wait for draw bridges and haul ass from Rowes Wharf.

They look very classy in Vegas which isn't saying much. It's hideous out here. Oh well.

I don't mind it. (apart from the ugly ground level buildings). I like taking exit 28 off 93 and looking out over Sullivan. Just a few years ago it was an industrial wasteland. Granted, it has a long way to go but looking at this tower and the partners building at Assembly, it's great to show signs of new life springing up around the area. Hopefully they'll do a good job of turning Sullivan into a decent urban area connecting well with Assembly and Everett.

The improvements in the square are coming along, but it's kind of lipstick on a pig. It's still such a mess of traffic everywhere.

This area has a lot of potential that would justify an increased tempo to redevelopment.

This place will be a traffic mess on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for the first few months, then it will settle into a "normal" weekend rush at night.

I can't wait to see the long line of pink Hummer limos rolling up for "girls night" or party buses full of bro's, ready to class it up at the craps table.
