I feel there is enough here to separate it from the general casino developments thread, seeing this will be breaking ground soon. This tower will rise to 386 feet.

Here is the one in vegas for some real world images that closely resemble what we will get.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Here's hoping the horizontal accent lighting is a bit closer to the Everett rendering than the real world example. I get it, casinos are intended to be somewhat garish, and call attention to themselves. In Vegas you are competing to get noticed among 20 other mega-resorts on the same road. This thing will be all alone without competition. Tone it down a bit, and you'll still stick out like a sore thumb.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

This proposal that got pushed through because of the corrupt Unions without a better plan concerning 93N-S Traffic.

This is a disgrace.

Typical democrats running the city into the ground like they have all over the country.
Detroit, Chicago, LA---They are serious parasites in society--Don't forget NJ

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

An interesting bit I read before is that they will have low level high speed water taxis to get under the bridges. They will leave from Rowes Wharf and other parts of the city to get you there and back fast without having to use the drawbridges.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Jeeze, good thing we didnt get that first proposal... that looks like the casino's they've been imploding for decades in vegas

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I agree the first proposal would have looked outdated the day it was built.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

You'd think they'd go with a lighter glass since this is Massachusetts and not a 100°F desert.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

What's the height? Will this be visible on the skyline from anywhere? Just curious.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

WCVB News has anounced that Wynn has chosen Suffolk Construction CO, as general contractor for the project.

Of course they did. Can we get some new companies please?

This was my reaction exactly. Suffolk has a pretty large proportion of the new construction in the city.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everret

I'm just going to say it: It's "Everett". Can a mod change the title, please?

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

That was not the title I had put, a mod changed it to what it is currently. Can a mod please change the title to what I have edited it to say? Its at the top of the first post. Thank you.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

That was my mistake. Never edit first thing in the morning. Apologies.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I think it would have been in their best interests to angle the tower to face the Boston skyline. Not sure why they did not.

IIRC, the thin side of the tower faces the power plant across the channel, so it reduces views of that obstruction when looking out from hotel windows. Could someone please confirm this?

Also, I read the hotel will be about the same height as the smoke stack from that power plant, too.

If you are referring to the tallest smokestack by the windmill and the 3 shorter smokestacks, that one is apparently 500' on the dot and the 3 shorter ones are each in the 300-350' range.
