Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Nothing has been said as to exactly WHEN the first one will go into revenue service.
So sick of these damn delays!! :mad:
 
This might come off as a dumb question, but will Encore Boston Harbor have a pool?

I've reviewed any plans I could find for this place, and for the life of me I can't find a resort pool anywhere. Gardens, spa, verandas, harborside walkway, etc.... everything I'd find at Wynn/Encore Vegas looks to be here (sans golf course), but I have not yet confirmed a pool.

I thought that may have been discussed in this thread and the answer was no pool. Which makes sense since you can really only justify a few full months of usage (June, July and August) and a pool area takes up precious other space that can be used to generate $ 12 months a year instead of 3 or 4.
 
A pool inside a green house type structure would actually be a pretty cool feature and would work year round. Then again, time spent at a pool is time that a guest isn't spending money. In Las Vegas, they may have to offer it as part of how to get the person to choose their casino hotel instead of the one across the street. But here, Encore is the only game in town, so why bother with amenities that can't be monetized.
 
We discussed a lot in this thread how patrons are unlikely to be big users of the T.

But I am now realizing how many employees this place is going to have -- thousands per the advertising. All those employees are really going to miss not having decent access to the T for their commutes.

Yea that is true, but although Encore doesnt have direct casino competition it is competing directly against other high end hotels in Boston. With the ferry service to Rowes Wharf they can pitch an easy commute to downtown to stay at an up scale hotel with fine dining, gambling, and high end retail shopping. Competing with Copley square and the Prudential mall. So a pool can be another way to get guests choosing to stay at Encore for their hotel stay, which in turn means those people will be much more inclined to gamble while theyre there. Either way they only had so much space, but I know lots of people really expect to be able to have a pool at most hotels they stay at and it could have drawn even more people to stay there for their hotel stay, indirectly leading to more gambling dollars.

In my opinion not including a pool was only one misstep of many... like also not including any event or show space, a theater, or any night life venue like a club. These are other huge draws that would get even more people out there that otherwise would not make the trip there just to gamble, but would probably end up gambling if they were there for something else. Then the benefit to the city is a lot greater also than just a gambling spot and hotel. They do have a ballroom and meeting rooms, but thats not really adding that much vs what could have been.

Some of the interiors definitely show they had extra space to fit these things in... but Im not in charge so hey..

Like the Harrahs pool in Atlantic city. Popular pool by day, popular nightclub at night

IIRC there will be a shuttle to wellington, so I imagine most employees will take that.

I would imagine this complex is just the first step, rather than the end product.
 
I hope so yea, with them buying up land in the area itd be nice to have some of that later on and density on 99.

What's not correct? I was referring to outdoor pools. Isn't the Harrah's pool indoors?
 
A pool? Make it a full indoor water park across the street and then we are talking.

Reservations for rooms opened yesterday. First night of booking is June 23rd, looks like they beat One Dalton. Rooms range from $700 to $2200 per night, first night already has all the top line rooms booked/reserved for higher ups probably. For comparison, One Dalton rooms range from $675 to $2,500+, in terms of price it's a similar market they're both after.
