Fan Pier Developments | Seaport

The pictures came out great. The 2nd building looks much better than the 1st building. (THANK GOD). Still not sold on the location of these buildings and all the taxpayers money shoveled into this specific development. But overall Vertex will be located here for a while. TIME WILL TELL like Whighlander claims.

It's a sad day in Boston architectural history when we praise boring corporate architecture for not screwing itself up (a la One Marina Park Drive).

The best thing about these is that they conceal their predecessor or at least make it stand out a little less.

The older building looks veeeeery vacant in those last two shots

I was going to say "I'm getting a bio-tech Kendall Square vibe" but then I realized that it's essentially the intent.

Already much more interesting the 90% of everything in the Seaport.

At least it looks like some of those tax breaks were put towards high-quality materials instead of just lining the developer's pockets.

This year seems to be the year of "better than everyone feared" buildings. (see: Mass Art Dorm, Liberty Mutual Building, and now these two)

kz, that last shot is really something. I'd love that in a higher resolution if you had it.

It all looks...not horrible from that angle.

"not horrible" - I always think that to myself flying into Logan about Fan Pier. Especially with the new construction, it seems like a nice step down to the water. Street level activity is cranking up also at Fan Pier. I'd say the biggest hurdle right now is transportation, land use, and complete streets (sorry - "drives")

Gee, Wouldn't this be the first process for City Planning for major developments in the pipeline. Seriously now we are talking about Transporation, land use and complete streets?

IP trumps that picture. Great pic.

Last pic reminded me what an albatross WTC is from the water (though I actually think it works well from Northern Ave).

I think this area used to be less boring before.
