Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

Last night at the Sox. 8/13.

Sidebar pivot: Crawford had a no hitter through five. Then I jinxed it by mentioning it to my friend at the top of the six.

It wasn't your fault -- Dave O'Brien was already talking about it before the 6th inning, just as he jinxed Brayan Bello on Saturday.

Is the plan to join the new lid to the Brookline Ave bridge over the Mass Pike, or leave the gap?
It'll join up with the Brookline Ave bridge.

This is what it's planned to look like from the east. The render is a bit old (from Spring 2021) and I think there might have been some changes to the building design since then.

I like it too. Is there talk of tearing it down?

There was some action earlier this year (or last) of the interior getting gutted and a lot of conjecture that it might not be long for this earth. Hopefully they save the building facade for whatever it's next purpose will be.

Yup - I believe also where the new Eastern Standard was supposed to go in. I will say given the pace/progress on this, I have often wondered if they were just giving up on that last little bit, though.

I'm tending to think they've run out of steam, and will leave that gap in the lid next to Brookline Ave. Time will tell.

They will probably have to put up a tower crane in order to dismantle and pull out the crawler crane no? Im guessing thats the hold up on filling in that gap

That would be a pretty radical design change to the approved plan.. You would have heard about it if that were the case.

I think the boom can be disassembled via smaller cranes. The cab and tracks can probably loaded onto a flatbed if they close the pike down for an evening.

The logistics for doing all of this is kind of nightmarish.

Random question (re: pic #10): why does Lansdowne, a two-track station, have them labelled Track 5 and Track 7?
