Beautiful. I recognize Lexington. Where are the water views from? Somewhere on the North Shore?

Whoops, I meant to write in captions. the first water view is from the Gloucester peninsula look south (see the Boston skyline?) and the last two are from Ipswich's Great Neck.

Go into real estate, they said. It's glamorous and pays well, they said. Near Tufts in Somerville

The realtor instructed me to take very few photos and don't even bother with the kitchens :p

I didn't take any proper shots of this room for obvious reasons, but I took some video to share with those close to me because this place was such a shitshow. This room was basically a drug den. As the realtor explained to me, the parents got old and aged in place, the two sons moved in to take care of them, and the sons over time started hitting up their parents' painkillers, in which case the whole place became neglected... sad stuff and a story that's all too common these days. And for whatever reason this room was left in this condition...

And then immediately after that I had this house in Chelsea that had a fully intact 1980s kitchen in excellent shape. Such is real estate!

That's it for now and probably for the year!

I guess that house in Somerville is a blank canvas, at least? The 1999 NHL poster is cool.

Is that modernist Lexington home in Six Moon Hill?

Five Fields... 14 Barberry to be precise. The owner has been there for ~60 years and I was there to do a floor plan and take a couple teaser photos to hold over the realtor until the place has been decluttered. It's a very nice home but it's also very lived in; not abused but certainly well used. What you see in the photo is the 1970 addition and that furniture probably dates to that point as well.

I used to work at the Bedford VA (still visit at least annually for my current role), and my old office spaces were along the hallway right at the top of the stairs to the right. Beautiful facility externally, but trying to provide modern healthcare in buildings which, in some cases, were built in the 1920s, is a real challenge. Asbestos everywhere. I'm very proud of some of what I did in my time there - the Dental clinic on the second floor of Building 2 was one of my projects that I was able to see through from conception to activation, and the adjacent Optometry clinic, as well as the Audiology clinic on the first floor, were designs I managed. They all ended up coming out great, with kudos to the Interior Designer I worked with at the time, as well as the A/E firms and contractors.

Those Quonset huts are a huge liability, and were even a decade ago. That's way more than just surface rust, and they're almost certainly covered in lead paint. Alas, they are historic. They're mostly used for equipment storage now.

Hard to believe that was ever approved in Winchester! It's so out of place, but I guess the 60's were a different time! :)
I really like that building, but it's just too car-centric. It's a 20-25 minute walk to Winchester Center, which just wouldn't work for me.

There's an architect on my pool team that lives in a house like that in Connecticut. Because of course he does. But it really is something.

Is Boston King Coffee any good? It certain looks eclectic!

Couldn't tell you. I literally parked in the lot to take a few shots and then took off. I'm in the habit of saving money by making dark roast at home, filling up a thermos and nursing that throughout the day.
