Pictures came out great. Building doesn't look bad in those pics. I can't figure out this development. Some pictures the building looks good others it doesnt.

Looks worse on cloudy days, I think, is the thing.

The crown looks horrible. I don't get all the praise.

I'm with you -- my opinion on this one has been a total roller coaster.

But at least it's giving us something to chew on instead of being yet another phoned-in, brain-dead design like we get everywhere else. Even if the results are just plain weird (which they are) at least you can tell someone somewhere actually gave a shit, which is more than can be said for that Kensington POS, among others. Gotta keep the expectations low low low...

I have not seen this building up-close. But this might be my take. Up-close the building looks fine, a no brainer for the backbay. But looking at the skyline photos far away that tells a whole different story. Another boring block Boston Building that looks to clog the views of the handsome Hancock tower.

Not sure yet.

I'm tempted to call the style of this (monumental 30s post-deco) neofascist, but it's not even really ambitious enough for that. It's the architecture of a sort of boring, stagnating fascism. If Franco had built an EUR, it might have included this.

The glass helps brighten and lighten the project (although wonderful photographs always help!)

As more cladding goes up, I love the view from the back more and more.
