Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Damn, really like this pic of Boston posted on the Memphis International Airport website which includes part of Fan Pier. It’s shows a different aspect of the city from the usual harbor view.View attachment 4037
Atlantaden -- good find -- looks like Boston on the Mississippi -- I can almost smell the Andouille sausage grillin down New Orleans way🤩

That Seaport Harborwalk on a weekend summer's evening was quite the electric experience in 2019 even when they were still working on parts of it. This summer is going to be out of this world (albeit virus willing).

Hopefully the optimism continues once this is all over! We shall see...

As the thread creator, I have to say my youthful optimism proved very well-founded for 14 years! Alas, all good things must come to an end.

Let's call it a pause. It will take some time for traffic levels to return (same can be said for pretty much everywhere). 2020 is shot, and most likely 2021 will see a bit of a rebound. 2022 is when we'll see things get back to at least 80-85% of 2019 levels. One positive is that the reduction in traffic and movements could help Massport complete their big projects faster - terminal E expansion, B to C connector, etc.

Air France will have a whopping 2 flights to the United States....in June. Only JFK and LAX. Crazy.

In light of a global pandemic, American Airlines has loaded a weekly Saturday Boston-Jackson Hole flight from mid-Dec to mid April.

Where was that flight this past winter? Starting this winter you have to pay extra to get Jackson Hole on the base Ikon Pass.

No. American Airlines has actually never done a flight to the Rockies from BOS (bar BOS-DEN temporarily from 2003-2005sh)

In the past two years, AA has added the following routes: (Whether or not they keep them post COVID-19)
-London-Heathrow (1x Daily, 772)
-Raleigh/Durham (5x Daily)
-Austin (12 Weekly)
-Indianapolis (2x Daily)
-Nassau (1 Weekly)
-Wilmington NC (1 Weekly)
-Grand Cayman (1 Weekly)

This is up to 11 additional daily flights, although there are jus as many Hub-Cuts as well. Would love to see AA entrench some year on SFO /SJC and possibly even another TATL.

KEY POINTS
  • American Airlines announced Friday that it will resume full flights starting July 1 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
  • The airline will continue to notify passengers when their planes are full and allow them to switch to less crowded flights at no extra cost through Sept. 30.
  • Passengers with flights booked through Sept. 30 can also change their flights, including adjusting origin and destination cities, without incurring a travel change fee.

Royal Air Maroc will be suspending their service from Casablanca. Miami is also being suspended.

American Airlines and JetBlue announced a partnership today, forming a "northeast alliance" and new codeshare, could have big impacts for Logan. They talk about pairing the JetBlue domestic network with the American international network, something that could make Logan a big connector between Jetblue and American (especially once the Terminal B to C connector is complete and people can connect post security...

^I wonder if this means that JetBlue is thinking of scaling back the LGA/DCA shuttle like service.
