Slight tangent, but... Whoa! I must be super-out-of-the-loop, this is Exit 133 now? How long has that been the case? I knew they were planning on changing to mileage-based signs, but I thought they'd have "OLD EXIT XX" up on the signs to smooth the transition, and I thought it was going to be a long time before the changes actually took place. Either way, bravo to MDOT.

I just started noticing these signs about 2 weeks ago on Route 95. I pretty much knew every exit so now it makes me dizzy seeing all these new numbers.

^^ What part of 95? Up by my area (Hanscom) they still haven't converted and at this point I want them to get it over with already.

The confusing part is when the same exit has different numbers depending on what direction you're traveling. The Washington St./ Mishawum Rd exit in Woburn has 2 different numbers- exit 36 (what is always has been) and then the other way it's like 54 or something. Very confusing when giving directions if you don't know which way they are coming.

They did southbound a couple of weeks ago. Northbound is still old #s. Hanscom is 49B.

Everywhere north of Burlington. Burlington exits are now in the 50's instead of low 30's. I usually go up to Exit 50 for Route 1 around Topsfield, and that's now Exit 70. It throws me off a lot.

Façade samplers for this are going up behind Tasty Burger on Boylston (the steelwork has been up for weeks, but they started hanging the panels today). I think we can take this as confirmation that the earlier-rendered green panels are out, and the white panels are here to stay. (n)

I wonder if it is metal panel now as well--looks like it. I preferred the green terra cotta but this is cheaper for sure. And won't clash with the CarGo logo.

This exact exit through me for a loop yesterday. Google Maps hasn’t updated the numbers, so the GPS was giving me 50 instead of 70. The “old exit 50” sign is so tiny, you can pretty much only read it as you’re in the process of exiting.

You can see where it will rise ( crane)

Are there any renderings of the Newbury Street side of this? Sure would be nice if this stretch could be de-alleyfied a bit.

^^^So now both buildings are the same color? That's kind of lame, and such a simple thing to avoid. As amazing as this boom is, there's a little too much blue glass and white/grey/tan that's been dulling the city's overall palette. I'd like to see more bold stuff, and between the first iteration here and Accordia for Winthrop Square, I now have a hankering for some green.

Even despite the disappointing facade changes, this project is shaping up to be such a win for the City. The ramp realignment alone would be a project to celebrate, and as would the new GL headhouse on the W side of Mass Ave.

Can we just put Samuels in charge of all developments from now on?

Too bad they couldn't have just closed off completely the Mass Ave WB onramp during the lid construction. There are two onramps at Copley not too far east of here.
The onramp under back bay garage closed last year

And the reasons for that closure are dodgy at best, I'm not complaining but you don't have to be a genius to see there was significant pressure from the Back Bay station air rights team to make that happen.

That aside, the Newbury St on ramp is very high volume, the detour route involves going down Commonwealth Ave and crossing Newbury. If you ask me, we don't want to divert more traffic down those routes.

Yea it seemed like private concerns from either the raffles developers or the back bay garage developers got that onramp closed which is messed up if you ask me.

I think you mean the Raffles developers. I agree, dodgy at best.
