Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

I happened to walk by this site on Saturday and I saw several people stopping to look and even taking a few photos.

A family friend owns a jewelry business right nearby and he was saying how himself, and several other business owners are very excited this tower is being built.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

Getting taller, or permit reflects actual rather than occupied height?

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

That would be enough to actually break the plateau!!! It would also miss 200m by 1 foot, but ehhhh, who's counting anyway? ;)

It would also put it 10' taller than San Francisco's Millennium Tower :)

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

Last I'd heard (and in the NPC) was 56 at 625'...so who knows?

Is this the same "highest occupied floor" vs. full height with mechanical/sculptural floors and roof thing that came up in the CSC thread? That building was approved at 690' but will likely be more than 700' in actuality...

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

So this guy, CSC, and Copley all get into the top five tallest buildings in Boston, right? That's pretty awesome.

Copley Place is approved for 569' last I heard. By the time it's built that will barely crack the top 10.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

With the mechanical screen Copley should top out at 625' I think

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

Yup, 569' is either roof or highest occupied floor for Copley Place. The crown/mechanical screen will extend to 625'.

Exciting news about the tower, though! It's actually happening! I do hope that 625' was to the roof. 655' with a screen would be a welcome plateau-buster.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

A very warm welcome lowellline!

These are great! Thank you!

We look forward to future updates.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

Thanks for the great pics! Can you provide us any information on the time-table of the tower? Such as, when do you expect to get the main crane(s) on site, when is the tower supposed to be above ground, etc?

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

I have no exact timetable for the tower erection, but it is some time away, possibly months. The crane that is there now is setting steel for the roof and elevator shaft of the Burnham; it should be gone Monday night. After that, the entire site needs to be excavated to match the elevation of the 4th basement of the Burnham. The tower will be poured-in-place concrete with one tower crane. The total erection time for the Millennium could be upwards of a year plus.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

awesome. welcome and thank you.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

I've lurked here for a few years, just finally posting/joining now. I have pictures from other projects too that I'll try and post soon: Spaulding Rehab, the Kensington, Wonderland garage, GrandMarc, MIT Broad at Ames st. Cambridge, Watermark, 319 A st, and many more. I'll get as many updates as I can while I'm on this job and post them accordingly.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

Awesome! Thank you! Lowell Can you confirm the actual height/stories of this tower since there seems to be some confusion at the top of the page between previously reported 56/625 and building permit 53/655. Is 655 to the very top floor with mechanicals above?
